Windows 10 Gets New Features with the Update
Although the successor, Windows 11, has already been announced, the current version of Windows will receive an extensive update that should add new functions and extend the service.
The update will be named 21H2, the same name as the Windows 11 preview, making it a bit confusing. But the good news for users who are far from meeting the hardware requirements of Windows 11 is that the service of number 10 is also expanded somewhat.
The update contains adjustments to several business functions around security and login procedures, Microsoft writes in a blog. With the update, Microsoft also promises an extension of the service.
This is 18 months for the Home and Pro editions and 30 months for Enterprise and Education editions. For companies that deploy Windows on more industrial devices, it is good to know that 21H2 is also the version on which Windows 10 bases its so-called Long-Term Servicing Channel.
With that service subscription, it should be possible to provide devices with this Windows 10 with the necessary updates for another five years.
