Wall Street Closed on Monday Due to Memorial Day

The American stock exchanges are closed on Monday due to Memorial Day, the day on which fallen American soldiers are commemorated. Trading on Wall Street will resume on Tuesday.

 

The indicators went into the long weekend with small pluses on Friday. The Dow-Jones index ended 0.4 percent higher at 25,585.69 points. The broader composite S&P 500 rose 0.1 percent to 2826.06 points. Nasdaq technology level meter won 0.1 percent to 7637.01 points.

In terms of business results, a quiet trading week is ahead. Among other things, wholesaler Costco, computer manufacturer Dell and clothing chain Abercrombie & Fitch are still coming out with trade messages.

At the macroeconomic level, the agenda is filled with data on economic growth, consumer confidence and spending and house prices.

Furthermore, attention is paid to developments concerning trade tensions between the United States and China and the Brexit problems.
