US Special Forces Make Mistake During Exercise and Arrest Man Who Knows Nothing

The US military had to apologize on Thursday after a Special Forces exercise went wrong. Soldiers had raided the wrong room in a large Boston hotel in the middle of the night and arrested an innocent guest.

The joint exercise with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) was “designed to enhance Special Forces skills in realistic and unfamiliar environments,” the Army Special Forces Command said. “But the team went into the wrong room and picked up a person who had nothing to do with the exercise.”

Further details were not disclosed, but the Special Forces stressed that the incident is being investigated closely and apologized for the mistake. The FBI said no one was injured in the exercise.

Neither the military nor the FBI has said who was mistakenly arrested, but local media reports it was an airline pilot who stayed at the hotel that night.
