US President Donald Trump has demanded that Fox News television channel fire journalist Jennifer Griffin after confirming through sources that Trump was dismissive and insulting about fallen US soldiers.
The revelation has been a torrent of criticism in recent days.
Trump initially came under fire when The Atlantic magazine reported calling soldiers of the Marine Corps killed in World War I “losers” and “suckers.”
The Republican president is said to have done so when he skipped a visit to a military cemetery in France in 2018, according to the official explanation because of the bad weather.
Fox News reporter Jennifer Griffin then reported that two former government officials confirmed that the president “did not want to travel to honour the American war dead,” implying that the weather had not really played a role.
