In New Zealand, the coronavirus has claimed a life again for the first time in more than three months.
A man in his 50s died in Auckland as a result of Covid-19, the health ministry reported Friday.
In the country, a total of 23 people have now died from the virus. 1,413 cases of infection have been reported, of which, just over 100 are still active.
Department Director-General Ashley Bloomfield acknowledged in a statement that New Zealanders might become very concerned about the new death.
The news is the reason for the department to emphasize the importance of vigilance against the disease and measures against its spread.
