107

The Italian volcano Stromboli has erupted again. The fierce explosion took place today, the fire department said. So far, there are no indications that people have been injured.

The fire brigade uses fire extinguishers and helicopters to fight fires. The Stromboli is a small island for Sicily and is one of the most active volcanoes in the world.

Currently, it is the high season, and many tourists are on the island that has only five hundred permanent residents.

The 900-meter high volcano also erupted at the beginning of July. Tourists panicked through the enormous clouds of ash and smoke, and some of them jumped into the sea.

A mountain climber was then killed. There were also injuries. Transport to the neighbouring island of Lipari was arranged for affected tourists.
