Spotify has passed half a billion, monthly active users. This is evident from the quarterly results of the music streaming service.
In the first quarter of 2023, Spotify saw the number of paying customers increase to 210 million from 205 million at the end of 2022. In addition, the total number of monthly active users went from 489 million to 515 million. Compared to the first quarter of 2022, these were 15 and 22 percent increases, respectively.
Turnover in the first three months increased by 14 percent annually to 3.0 billion euros. However, according to Bloomberg, the operating loss amounted to 156 million euros, with which Spotify performed better than the 186.2 million euros that analysts had expected.
During the second quarter, Spotify expects the number of paying customers to increase further to 217 million and the number of monthly active users to 530 million.
