Sony Reveals Design of the New Playstation 5
Sony first showed images of the PlayStation 5 at an online event that will be released in two versions later this year.
The Japanese company also showed several accessories for its next-gen game console, plus quite a few previews of the first PS5 games.
Like the previously released Sony DualSense controller for the PlayStation 5, the new console is mainly in white.
The design is much more streamlined and futuristic than that of the PS4, which is further underlined by the blue light effect that shines from the black base on the inside of the white housing (and which can undoubtedly be switched off, for those who prefer it less bling-bling).
Like the previous generations, the PS5 can be set up both horizontally and vertically.
There are two different models of the PlayStation 5: one with a built-in 4K Blu-ray player for movies and of course games on discs, and a Digital Edition in which the user downloads or streams all content via the internet.
Prices of the new consoles have not yet been announced, but the Digital Edition, which looks a bit slimmer than the other PS5, will undoubtedly be a bit cheaper.
