Russia carried out new missile and drone strikes on Ukraine on Tuesday, a day after such attacks left more than 100 victims across Ukraine. Explosions have been reported, including in the vicinity of the capital Kyiv.
In the western city of Lviv, “critical infrastructure” has been hit, the mayor said. As a result, part of the city is without electricity. Attacks have also been reported in Zaporizhzhya, Dnipropetrovsk, Vinnytsia and Mykolaiv.
Ukrainian media reported one death in Zaporizhzhya, but it is unclear how many victims were killed on Tuesday. Emergency services in the country warn that there is a “high chance” of rocket attacks during the day. Citizens are advised to remain in the shelter for safety, especially if the air raid siren goes off. That sounded Tuesday in many places, including in Kyiv.
Moscow on Monday admitted to carrying out heavy attacks on Ukraine in response to an explosion on the Crimean bridge between Russia and Crimea. According to Ukrainian information, the attacks across Ukraine left 19 dead and 105 injured. The UN human rights office says these attacks may have violated international humanitarian law.
