The hacker who stole some $610 million in crypto coins returned the last coins two weeks later. He received a reward of half a million for this.
It is the most significant theft of crypto coins ever. A hacker managed to steal more than half a billion dollars worth of Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain and Polygon Network cryptocurrencies through a vulnerability in PolyNetwork’s platform.
But he or she quickly made it clear that the intention was not to keep the money but to point out the impact of the security problem.
Since then, the hacker gradually returns the coins, with the last part being on a shared account. Meanwhile, PolyNetwork says that the last part, worth about $141 million, is back in the company’s hands.
PolyNetwork then promised the hacker a reward of 160 ETH (about half a million dollars). However, it is not clear whether he will also accept the company’s offer to become a security advisor.
