So far, there have been no incidents. The police expressly ask that you do not come to Brussels by car. Instead, convoy participants are diverted to a parking lot on the outskirts of Brussels.
It concerns a few dozen vehicles, which, despite a ban, have come to the city from France and Luxembourg. Some 1,300 vehicles had gathered near Lille in northern France on Sunday evening. Others have chosen to drive to Strasbourg, where the European Parliament meets this week.
The phenomenon of the freedom convoys has come over from Canada. On Saturday, demonstrators acted with trucks and other vehicles in The Hague. Police in Paris used tear gas against participants this weekend and handed out hundreds of fines.
