Ukrainian authorities report Russian tanks and other armoured vehicles in various parts of the country. Armoured vehicles are seen in the renegade region of Luhansk, among other places.
Ukrainian border authorities have already spotted Russian ground troops in Luhansk, Kharkiv and Chernihiv.
The Ukrainian president’s adviser says the army is fighting hard against the invasion force. President Volodimir Zelensky has ordered the army to “inflict maximum losses”. Ukraine has lost seven soldiers to the Russian bombing. Fifteen soldiers are said to be wounded so far, and nineteen are missing.
As Russian troops enter Ukraine, artillery and other heavy weapons also target Ukraine’s Crimea peninsula and neighbouring Belarus. In addition, airstrikes have knocked out Ukrainian air defences and air forces, Russia says.
