American actress Lori Loughlin has been sentenced to two months in prison for her role in the bribery scandal to get her daughters into the University of Southern California.
In addition, according to the American media, she has to pay a fine of $ 150,000 and was given 100-hour community service. Her husband, fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli, is jailed for five months.
Although both maintained their innocence for a long time, the Full House actress and her husband admitted in May that they were part of the big bribery scandal surrounding admission to prestigious American universities.
They paid half a million to get their two daughters admitted to USC University. They did this through an intermediary, who made Isabella and Olivia Giannulli part of the rowing team of the training institute on paper. However, the pair did not practice that sport at all.
Now that prosecutors have asked the judge to approve the deal, a little more is clear about the difference between Loughlin’s and her husband’s sentences. Giannulli is said to have played a more active role in the scam.
He is said to have been in contact with their intermediary more often, arranged the payments, and confronted the high school dean of one of his daughters. The latter informed USC that it doubted that the registered teenager had ever been active as a rower.
