The Italian biotechnical company Takis claims to have found a possible vaccine against the coronavirus.

Of the five candidate vaccines the company developed, two generate antibodies to Covid-19 that block the virus, according to tests with mice conducted at the Spallanzani hospital in Rome.

Experts from the hospital specializing in virology are more careful, but the test results are encouraging.

A possible vaccine against Covid-19 has been found for the first time, says director Luigi Aurisicchio of biotech company Takis in Pomezia, just outside Rome. As early as April, the company announced it had a vaccine that could potentially block the coronavirus.

Indeed, tests in the Spallanzi hospital specializing in virology in Rome would now show that the vaccine is capable of eliciting an immune response that can stop the virus.

“The antibodies generated by our vaccine in mice work,” Aurisicchio enthusiastically tells this site. “We expect it to work on people, too.”

According to the biotech company, the first tests on humans could already start this summer.
