Hong Kong leader Carrie Lam defended the security law that China is introducing for the city-state at the UN on Tuesday.
Lam stated that the law is “inevitable” and that no central government can turn a blind eye to threats to the national security and power of the state.
Lam delivered a speech to the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva on Tuesday.
This happened shortly after it became known that the Chinese parliament had passed the controversial security law.
