Prince Harry and his wife Meghan say they did not participate in the biography Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan and the Making of a Modern Royal Family.

A pre-publication was published in The Times on Saturday. The book comes out August 11.

Earlier, insiders said that the authors, royalty reporters Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, had spoken to the Sussexes before leaving the UK.

According to Harry and Meghan’s spokesman, this is not true: “The book is based on the authors’ experiences as members of the royalty press and their own independent reporting.” The writers did speak to the couple’s ‘close friends’ and discussed the split between Harry and his brother William.

The Times article reads that Harry did not feel protected by his family when the British tabloid press extra attacked him because of his relationship with Meghan.

High-ranking court officials, dubbed “vipers” by Harry, felt that the couple’s popularity overshadowed the rest of the royals and should be “curtailed,” the authors said.

The couple stepped back within the British royal family earlier this year. Today, the Sussexes live with their son Archie in Los Angeles. They are not entirely safe there either.

Earlier this week, it was publicized that they had sued American gossip photographers for taking pictures of Archie in their backyard.
