Tech company Google now also wants to sell its products such as Pixel phones and smart thermostats, and doorbells from Nest in its own physical stores.

The first of those stores is due to open its doors in New York this summer. It is not yet clear how many stores Google provides in total and whether they also come outside the United States.

In addition to the phones and Nest products, Google will also buy computers and Fitbit fitness trackers in stores. In addition, orders can be collected, and products can be brought for repair. Google also wants to offer technical support for its products in the store.

With its own store, Google follows the example of Apple, which has hundreds of its own stores worldwide. Microsoft also had its own stores for several years, but that company decided to say goodbye to that.

The company now has four more so-called “experience centres” in London, New York, Sydney, and Redmond’s home town near Seattle.
