Google Puts Ads on Sites With Wild Coronation Rumours

While search giant Google has taken action to keep all kinds of conspiracy theories away from Google News and YouTube, the company does place ads on websites that highlight such wild stories.

 

The ads are placed by an automated Google system that links advertisers to websites.

Advertising by Microsoft and companies offering services for Microsoft products, among others, has been placed on such sites. In many of the conspiracy theories, Microsoft founder Bill Gates has a prominent role.

According to some theories, his charity would like to gain world domination through the coronavirus and compulsory vaccinations.

Telecom companies were also linked to plot sites. There, the link that, according to some of the theories, exists between 5G radiation and the coronavirus played a role in the Google system’s decision.

According to a Google spokesperson, the 49 sites that Global Disinformation Index contributed simply meet the conditions set by the tech company. The web giant says to take immediate action as soon as websites across the border.

It is not the first time that Google has come under attack for the placement of advertisements by the search company.

A few years ago, large advertisers said they no longer wanted to advertise on YouTube after advertisements from companies such as Mars, Adidas and Deutsche Bank were placed with videos containing scantily clad children.

The videos were not of a sexual nature, but many of the comments that were posted were. Google was also criticized for placing advertisements on the far-right website Breitbart, which often does not take it very carefully with the truth.
