John Bercow, the former Speaker of the British House of Commons who became famous with his remarkable “Order, order!” cry, is to take part in an American reality show. The PA news agency reported this on Friday.
In the show ‘The Traitors US’, participants, divided into ‘believers’ and ‘traitors’, compete for a cash prize of several hundred thousand US dollars in a remote castle in the Scottish Highlands.
It is still unclear when the show will air, but it will probably be in early 2024. Other participants include Marcus Jordan, the son of former American basketball star Michael Jordan and the winner of last year’s British version of the show ‘Love Island’, Ekin-Su Cülcüloglu.
Bercow, 60, was the British House of Commons Speaker from 2009 to 2019. He gained fame as a flamboyant debate leader who kept the sometimes endless Brexit debates in check. He also gained international fame with his appeals to order in the hall, “Order, order!”.
Last year, he was banned from the parliament building for allegedly misbehaving during his presidency.
