On Tuesday morning, at least five people were killed and more than 10 injured after a pickup truck collided with a train in southern Hungary.
In addition, one of the train carriages derailed, police said. The accident happened at a level crossing in Mindszent, near the Hungarian-Serbian border.
According to a police spokesperson, the five killed victims were in the truck. Several people were injured on both the train and the truck, which is registered in Hungary and transported local workers.
According to the Hungarian railways, the train was en route from Kiskunfelegyhaa to Hodmezvosarhely, and there were 22 passengers in the derailed wagon. Ten train passengers were injured, two of them seriously.
According to Hungarian media reports, the truck ignored the red warning lights and drove onto the track.
