Five Children on their Way to Disney Killed in A Fire on Highway. While the major traffic accident that occurred on Thursday night (local time) on a highway in Florida, five children were killed.
They were in a van of their church and were on their way to Disney World. Bystanders speak of a massive fire and explosions. “The heat was insane.”
On the northbound lanes of the Interstate 75 motorway, a passenger car and a truck with a trailer collided. They flew (partly) over the crash barrier separating the carriageway from the highway and collided with an oncoming truck and the van from the Louisiana church.
“When the trucks collided, they both fired,” said Patrick Riordon on behalf of the Florida highway police during a press conference. Around 190 litres of diesel-fueled the fire to a large size. Witnesses speak of a huge fire, smoke and explosions.
“In that chaos, a fifth vehicle hit a few victims who had been thrown out of their cars by the previous collisions. Or on some wreckage, we do not know that. ”
The incident took place north of the city of Gainesville. The two truck drivers were also killed. Eight people were injured.
