The wildfire not far from the resort of Marbella in the touristic region of Costa del Sol in southern Spain is under control, Spanish media report.
The fire started on the slopes of the Pujerra Mountain near the municipalities of Benahavis, Pujerra and Juzcar on Wednesday.
Temperatures above 30 degrees and wind speeds of 40 kilometres per hour fueled the fire. About 2,500 people were evacuated because of a forest fire.
The fire destroyed at least 2,000 hectares of land and three firefighters were injured.
