Downing Street has confirmed that Prime Minister Boris Johnson has married. The British Prime Minister lived together in the famous official residence at number 10 with his fiancee Carrie Symonds and British media reported on Saturday that they secretly married.

The couple was the first couple to live there unmarried since December 2019. It is also the first time in 199 years that a British Prime Minister has married during his term in office.

Johnson, 56, (56) married Symonds, 23, his junior, in a church ceremony led by priest Daniel Humphries, who also baptized the couple’s one-year-old son Wilfred last year.

Apart from a handful of church officials, the modest ceremony was attended by about thirty invited guests from the couple’s family and friends. They weren’t told where to go until the last minute. That turned out to be the Roman Catholic Cathedral of Westminster, the largest Roman Catholic church in the country in central London. The bride was dressed in a long white dress but was not wearing a veil.

The couple will be having a wedding in the summer. According to the media, it is unclear where, but the Prime Minister’s Checkers country residence, northwest of London, has a good chance. Johnson and Symonds managed to keep the wedding a secret. Only recently, English media reported extensively getting married in July 2022 because they would have sent messages to friends and family about it.
