On Thursday, the British court dismissed a complaint by former American President Donald Trump against former British spy Christopher Steele.
The ex-spy’s controversial dossier on Trump’s alleged ties to Russia caused a political storm in 2017.
Donald Trump (77) had filed a lawsuit against Orbis Business Intelligence, a consultancy founded by the former MI6 agent. An appeals court dismissed the ex-president’s privacy complaint against the agency over claims that he engaged in “perverted” sex and paid bribes to Russian officials.
Steele’s file allegedly contains a video recording of the sexual acts. Christopher Steele, who formerly led the MI6 intelligence service’s Russia cover, wrote that Trump had been “compromised” by the Russian secret service FSB.
Judge Karen Steyn ruled on Thursday that Trump’s claim for damages was doomed to failure.
