Cisco to Buy Splunk for $20 Billion
According to sources from the Wall Street Journal, Cisco wants to acquire data analytics company Splunk, but that is not yet very active.
According to the business newspaper, Cisco would have made an offer worth twenty million dollars. But at the same time, there would be no active talks, so the takeover does not seem immediate.
Splunk was founded in 2003 and employed 7,500 people. The software company focuses on products for analyzing large amounts of data.
Following the departure of CEO Doug Merritt last year, the company is led ad interim by Graham Smith.
