China Landslide: More than 100 People Buried in Sichuan Province. China has feared that more than 100 people are under the rubble after a major landslide in the province of Sichuan. The falling debris has destroyed about 40 houses in the town of Xinmo from the mountains.
The state newspaper People’s Daily writes that rain caused the earthquake. The area has been plagued by weeks of heavy rain, which also lead to floods. According to local authorities, 141 people are missing.
390,000 People are Affected
There have also been landslides in other places, which have killed four deadly victims. According to Chinese media, 390,000 people have been affected by natural violence. In the mountainous area, mainly Tibetans and the Qiang live.
