In the past quarter, the fast food chain Burger King sold more Whoppers, Twister Fries, Long Chickens and other fast food products.
As a result, the Canadian parent company Restaurant Brands International saw its turnover increase. That group also owns a coffee and doughnut chain Tim Hortons and fast food restaurants Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen and Firehouse Subs.
The total sales of all Restaurant Brands locations worldwide amounted to more than $ 10.9 billion, compared to almost $ 9.8 billion a year earlier. Burger King accounted for $6.9 billion of that. Those sales figures also include income from the company’s franchisees.
Restaurants Brands owned locations generated sales of nearly $1.8 billion. Restaurant Brands now has a total of 30,125 restaurants worldwide. That was 28,927 branches a year earlier. Net income for the Toronto-based company was $351 million, up from $346 million a year ago.
