British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announces an investigation into the approach to the coronavirus in the United Kingdom.
The main focus is on the actions of the government. The investigation is likely to start in the spring of 2022.
“All important aspects of the fight against the coronavirus are being investigated,” Johnson said Wednesday. “Everything is put under a microscope.”
The investigation will probably not start until next year, as Johnson fears an increase in the number of infections and deaths could come in the fall. “We don’t want to distract people fighting the coronavirus if they still have to do their job.”
The United Kingdom is one of the most affected countries in Europe by the virus but is also rapidly vaccinating the population. As a result, many rules have already been relaxed.
