The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has criticized the China speech by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken. He is accused by a spokesperson of, among other things, spreading false information and defamation about Beijing’s policies.
Blinken warned on Thursday of China’s “intent to reform the international order” and called for the defence of the world order. The minister also accused the Chinese authorities of increasing tensions around Taiwan.
The island has its own government, but the government in Beijing sees it as part of China.
The Chinese spokesman believes that Blinken is exaggerating the Chinese threat and that his speech is interfering with the internal affairs of the East Asian country.
The minister’s statements show that Washington is “trying to contain and suppress China’s development to maintain American hegemony and power,” the spokesman said.
