Taliban Condemn US Airstrike in Kabul
The Taliban condemns the United States for carrying out an airstrike in Kabul without first informing the group.
It is illegal for the Americans to carry out attacks at their own discretion in other countries, a spokesman told the Chinese state broadcaster CGTN.
The US military said it killed suicide bombers from the Afghan branch of Islamic State (IS-K) on Sunday, which would have prevented another attack at Kabul airport. It was the second attack on IS-K since that group carried out a very deadly attack on the airport.
Thirteen American servicemen were among the dead.
The Afghan capital, Kabul, was taken by the Taliban in mid-August. Since then, they have been the rulers of the country. They cannot count on the support of IS-K, which is more radical than the Islamic extremists of the Taliban. The two factions see each other as enemies.
