A “massive” Russian bombing hit the southern Ukrainian city of Mykolayiv on Sunday morning.
According to the city’s mayor, which has been under heavy fire for some time, it was probably the heaviest shelling to date.
At least one person has died, and two people were injured, the governor of the region where Ukrainian forces plan to launch a major counter-offensive said.
Bombs also hit the northeastern regions of Kharkiv and Sumi, not far from the front line. A few buildings were damaged, the mayor of Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city, said.
According to regional authorities, one person has been killed and two injured in Sumi.
