Russia expects “nothing good” from the administration of US president-to-be Joe Biden.

“It would be strange to expect good things from people who in many cases have been able to make a career thanks to their Russophobia and by throwing mud at my country”, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Rjabkov said to Interfax.

The publication of the interview with Rjabkov follows the news of a major hacking operation against US institutions. Top US officials are blaming Russia.

President-elect Biden has also announced countermeasures.

Deputy Minister Rjabkov warned of the consequences if the US treats his country as a “strategic rival”. Russia will then adopt a similar attitude towards the US.

He also stated that Russia would not seek contact on its own initiative with Biden’s team preparing the transfer of power in the US.
