Iranian Embassy in Saudi Arabia Reopens
The Iranian embassy in Saudi Arabia will reopen its doors on Tuesday. The French news agency AFP learns this from diplomatic sources in Riyadh.
The fact that both countries would strengthen their diplomatic ties became clear earlier this year after an Iranian delegation visited Riyadh. As a result, the embassy will open Tuesday at 6 p.m. local time in the presence of the new Iranian ambassador.
According to the English-language Iranian government newspaper Iran Daily, that will be the diplomat Alireza Enayati.
The relationship between Sunni Saudi Arabia and Shiite Iran has been below-free in recent years. Diplomatic ties have been broken since 2016. However, the two countries signed a China-brokered deal to rekindle relations in March.
