Facebook Gaming Launches Tournament Feature
Facebook Gaming Launches Tournament Feature. Users of Facebook Gaming, Facebook’s video game streaming service, can now organize competitions with their friends.
Facebook Gaming is the streaming service of Facebook, a kind of Twitch competitor that brings together users who stream their games via Facebook Live.
The new Tournaments feature now allows users to organize a virtual tournament, in which they can invite their friends themselves.
Initially intended for live events, the feature has now been recuperated for virtual tournaments and, according to Facebook, should help people better handle times of self-isolation.
Users can put together different types of tournaments, from elimination rounds to rounds where each player will face each other first.
The service is designed for any kind of tournament, from semi-professional esports to a cosy seal among friends. Tournaments will initially be rolled out in ‘early access’.
