Employees Google is Allowed to Work From Home Longer
Employees of Google, part of the American tech group Alphabet, are allowed to work longer from home due to the corona pandemic.
The company extended the current arrangement until September next year, which means that it will be months before employees return to the office.
The company also tested the idea of a flexible working week, before the offices are staffed again. Part of that plan is that employees will partly continue to work from home and appear at the office for three days a week.
According to Google, a flexible work model will lead to greater productivity, better collaboration and better well-being.
Google was one of the first corporations to ask its employees to work from home due to corona. Initially, the intention was for the employees to return to the office in January. That term has already been postponed to July and now until after the summer.
Google closed its offices in early March. The firm employs more than 100,000 people and also hires tens of thousands of people.
