China Angry With French Parliament Over Uighurs Genocide Motion

The Chinese foreign ministry has condemned a motion in the lower house of the French parliament calling the persecution of the Uyghurs genocide.

The motion was tabled by the Socialist Party on Thursday and passed almost unanimously.

“The motion in the French lower house on Xinjiang ignores facts and legal knowledge and is flagrantly meddling in Chinese internal affairs,” a spokesman said. “China is strongly against it.”

France’s lower house on Thursday joined government agencies in multiple countries to support the systematic persecution of Muslim Uyghurs in Xinjiang province.

Also, more and more countries are not sending a government delegation to Beijing for the Winter Olympics for the same reason.
