Microsoft will release a preview feature later this year that will allow you to test out games for the Xbox console before buying tens of gigabytes of game.
The company announced this at the E3 game conference. The feature will appear on the Xbox dashboard and will use Microsoft’s Xbox Cloud Gaming (xCloud) service to stream (part of) the game.
This allows players to test the game for a while before downloading it completely.
Microsoft has been working on integrating xCloud into its other services for some time, including Xbox consoles and the Xbox app on PC. The ‘try before you download’ feature is one way this is done.
It should come to both consoles and the app on PC later this year, according to Kareem Choudhry, who heads cloud gaming at Microsoft.
