Former US President Donald Trump lashed out Monday evening (local time) at the parliamentary committee investigating the storming of the Capitol on January 6, 2021.
On Monday, the committee held a public hearing into the investigation for the second time.
“Democrats have come up with a story around Jan. 6 that should distract from the greater and more important truth that the 2020 election was stolen and manipulated,” Trump wrote in a 12-page document he released Monday.
Trump believes that the committee, with seven Democrats and two Republicans, is only looking at one side of the story and calls the parliamentary inquiry a judicial mockery.” After all, Trump says the hearings also serve to “distract the American public from the pain that they feel”.
