The US has expelled ten Russian employees from the Russian Embassy in Washington and has issued sanctions against more than 30 Russians or Russian institutions.
According to Washington, these are measures because of Russian attempts to influence the American elections last year.
The sanctions target 16 people and 16 institutions in Russia who are said to be behind the attempts and have acted on behalf of the Kremlin.
The US is threatening more sanctions if Russia continues to “destabilize” the world.
