Tesla Wants to Design Cars for the Chinese Market
American electric car maker Tesla is looking for a designer for cars explicitly targeting the Chinese market. Sources reported this to Reuters news agency.
Tesla has been looking for candidates for several months and has plans to set up a design studio in Shanghai or Beijing.
Franz von Holzhausen, head of design at Tesla, is said to have interviewed several people.
China is an important market for Tesla, which has its own car factory near Shanghai.
Sales of all-electric vehicles in China are expected to increase to approximately 1.5 million vehicles this year. Last year, Tesla reportedly sold 145,000 cars in China.
