US President Trump accuses a ‘left-wing mob’ of ‘breaking down’ American history.
According to an employee of the President’s election campaign, Trump is going to say this at a big meeting at a monument in Mount Rushmore, as part of the celebration of American Independence Day.
“On the anniversary of America’s founding, the President will tell the truth about America’s history, and he will tell the truth about those who are trying to break it down and divide our country,” said the official.
Trump is going to blame “the left-wing mob” for totalitarian behaviour “that is completely foreign to American life,” the employee said of the expected statements.
The President had previously criticized demonstrators for destroying statues during demonstrations against racism and police brutality.
The President is going to watch a fireworks show in Mount Rushmore. The memorial includes the rock-cut heads of US Presidents George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln.
