Lundmark was announced as the new CEO in early March. It would generally start on September 1. Now Nokia announces that it will be a month earlier.

Lundmark comes from the Finnish energy company Fortum Oyj.

The new CEO succeeds Rajeev Suri, who has led the company since 2014. He has to leave because Nokia has difficulty competing against Ericsson and Huawei.

The company lost a third of its market value in a year.

This week Nokia announced that it would cut 1,233 jobs in France at subsidiary Alcatel-Lucent. This fits in with a global restructuring that started in 2018.
