New Zealand Considering Laptops Ban on Flights from Muslim Countries
Following the US, UK and Australia, New Zealand is also considering banning laptops and other electronic devices on board for a number of passenger aircraft.
It is about flights from some Muslim countries. The devices are only allowed in the cargo area and not as cabin baggage. According to the New Zealand Herald, there are flights from Dubai and Qatar.
The sharpened measures apply because of terrorist threats.
According to the US Department of Internal Security, terrorists have chosen civil aviation as a target and try to smuggle explosives into the aircraft.
