A further 11,000 infections have been detected in Russia. This brings the total to 209,688. To our knowledge, 1915 patients have succumbed to the virus.
More than 30,000 patients have already been cured.
The virus from China made its appearance in Russia at the end of January by Chinese tourists in the Asian part of the country.
The authorities intervened quickly and managed to keep the virus reasonably under control there.
But in early March, the virus spread again mainly in Moscow due to the arrival of infected travellers from Italy.
