Instagram Bug Accidentally Exposed Some Users Passwords. According to The Information, Instagram was affected by a disaster, after which users’ passwords were clear.

 

The error was in an Instagram feature that allows users to download a copy of data that Instagram owns, reports The Information. Users have been notified by e-mail.

Instagram parent company Facebook writes in the mail that if the function was used, the full password of users in the link with which the database could be downloaded.

The passwords were saved on Facebook servers. According to the company, the data has now been removed. The function would also have been updated to close the leak.

Facebook says in response to The Information that “the leak has hit only a small part of the users”. People who have not received an e-mail are at no risk that their information was accessible.
