Hospital Applause for 106-Year-Old Connie Who Overcame Coronavirus. A very elderly British woman who became infected with the coronavirus at the end of March has been officially declared cured.

106-year-old Connie Titchen, a proud great-grandmother from Birmingham, fought the virus for just under three weeks and today left Birmingham City Hospital to loud applause from the staff. “I was fortunate.”

Born in 1913, Titchen is 106 years old and has therefore experienced both world wars. Despite her old age, the brave lady can still take care of herself, says grandson Alex Jones (40) to news agency Reuters.

“She still cooks every day, although she also likes McDonald’s now and then. I have not yet told her that the restaurants are closed.”

According to the grandson, Titchen is still clear-minded and understands what is currently going on in the world.

“The secret of her old age is that Connie is physically active and very independent. She had hip surgery in December, but she walked again within thirty days. She’s excellent and I know the whole family can’t wait to see her again. She has quite a few fans! “

When leaving the hospital, Titchen received a standing ovation from the nursing staff. Kelly Smith took care of her and saw her getting a little redecorated every day.

“It was fantastic to see Connie recover. It is nice to see that patients also leave our department after they have defeated this virus.”
