Five New Cases of Coronavirus in France, Already Eleven in Total

Five coronavirus infections have again been reported in France. According to the government, this is a group of people who were infected by a Brit who had returned from Singapore. A total of 11 people have already been affected in France, 40 in Singapore.

Health Minister Agnès Buzyn had terrible news this morning. With five new cases, the number of infections with the virus from China in France has now risen to eleven people.

According to Minister Buzyn, this is a “cluster”, so a limited group of people who knew each other. These are British, four adults and a child.

The origin of the infection is said to be a Brit who had returned from the Asian city-state of Singapore at the end of January.

That Brit then stayed with a group of other people in a chalet in the French Alps in the Haute Savoy. Five people became infected and were transferred to hospitals in Lyon, Saint-Etienne and Grenoble. None of them would be in danger.

Two schools are also closed in the area. One of the infected British – a girl of nine – would have gone to school there for a while. The French government does not recommend travelling to China unless you have to be there.
