Billionaire Elon Musk wants China to lift the ban on his social media platform X. In a post on X, the CEO calls the current situation “unbalanced.”
New US President Donald Trump signed an executive order immediately after his inauguration on Monday instructing the Justice Department to drop the ban on TikTok for the next 75 days.
Trump wants to give the Chinese parent company ByteDance more time to find a suitable buyer for its US operations and prevent the app from going dark.
“I have long opposed a TikTok ban as it violates freedom of speech,” Musk wrote on X . “But right now, TikTok is allowed to operate in the United States, while X is not allowed to operate in China. That is unbalanced. Something needs to change.”
