Easyjet Can Handle A Long-Term Corona Crisis Financially

The British EasyJet is in its own words financially well equipped to deal with months of disruption of air traffic due to the corona crisis.

The company says in a trading update that it has sufficient resources to keep the fleet on the ground for nine months.

EasyJet says it can reduce its fleet because the company uses lease contracts. Besides, the price fighter plans to sell six of its somewhat older devices. All in all, this makes the company more flexible in responding to future demand for air travel.

The airline previously announced measures to deal with the crisis. Where possible, company expenses are limited. Savings are also made by keeping appliances on the ground. An agreement has also been postponed with Airbus for the supply of 24 aircraft.

According to EasyJet, it is not possible to predict performance for the current fiscal year due to the corona crisis. “We continue to take steps to reduce costs, save money and increase liquidity,” it sounds.

Through various initiatives, the company has around 1.9 billion pounds in additional credits available. The price fighter has a total of £ 3.3 billion.

The first half of its broken fiscal year, the six months to March 31, easyJet expects an operating loss of £ 185 million to £ 205 million. That would be an improvement from the £ 275 million deficit a year earlier. Measurement sales increased 1.6 percent to nearly £ 2.4 billion.

EasyJet further said that it would be possible to fly with fewer seats available per flight shortly. To meet social distancing rules, the middle row of seats can be kept free on future flights.
