Car Drives in on Crowd in China: At Least Nine Deaths

In the Southern Chinese city of Hengyang Wednesday evening, local time, a man with his car ridden on a crowd. At least nine people were killed, and at least 46 others were injured.

 

NBC News reports this on the authority of local media.

According to the Chinese online portal The Paper, the man drove his crowd car on a crowd in a busy place. Then he got out and stabbed several people.

The perpetrator would be the fifties, who already has several convictions behind his name for drug-related offences and arson, Chinese state media report. The police could pick him up.

The motives of the man are not yet known, but an investigation has been opened.
